Is it possible to have broadband and dialup connected at the same time? So
can i dial into AOL and then connect my Comcast DSL?

If it can not be done, any microsoft solution on this issue? if it can be
done, any kind of MS articles on this? i can not find any MS articles on this
subject at all, i dont know the search terms to use though.

First, remove the spyware/malware called AOL from your computer and
never, ever, install it again.

If you have your dial up modem connected to one phone line and your DSL
to another, yes, you can connect both but one or the other will take
over, probably the dial up.

OK, i did not make myself clear, i apologize. its not that i want to do it
and DSL was a bad example. lets say i wanted to use cable instead, i have a
T1, i am not doing this, but if i wanted to could i have a broadband
connection and a dialup connection at the same time, i just want some MS
articles dealing with this. it should not be possible, i believe you can only
have on IP address. i just an MS article telling me this

Comcast offers Cable Internet. They do NOT offer DSL (Digital Subscriber Line).

And this idea is NOT a good idea. Access AOL over the the Broadband Cable Internet.

Can't speak for XP. Have done similar in 98SE, but not at the same time
connectivity. Separate connectivity at different times. Used broadband
cable, and telco modem. Telco modem was backup via Earthlink ISP
connection. All manually configured by myself. No add-on software like
AOL.

If you have an AOL account, you can access your AOL mail etc. through their
website without using their software. Strongly urge you not to install AOL
software. Nor any cable providers connection software if possible to
manually configure.

Hi, David.

Yes. I've had no trouble connecting to both simultaneously. With Broadband
running just connect to the dial-up in the normal way. Watch out though,
it's easy to forget you're connected and you are paying as a normal
telephone call...

To disconnect you have to right click the dial-up icon in the sys tray, or
the dial-up connection in My Computer and select "Disconnect"

But why even do that. You can connect to AOL with your broadband
connection and still use the broadband connection at the same time for
other things. It will do both. Used to do it all the time when I
still had AOL on my system. ( I was not paying for AOL so that was
only reason I still had it on.)
