Bring prompted for a username and password since changing it when browsing the internet

I am browsing through a BLUECOAT proxy server with ie6. I have just
changed my password and am being prompted each time I go to an internet
site...kind of being authenticated for each session. Intranet traffic
remains ok.

Has anyone had such a problem before?

I have looked at the MSDN and Bluecoat support sites and can find next
to nothing to help. Even updated XP with all patches and rebooted...no
change.

Help is appreciated.
 
If anyone was interested, this was related to XP having cached
credentials. Control Panel/User Accounts/Advanced
