Is there a control in Windows XP that will allow me to
adjust the monitor's brightness. My wife was playing a
game and having difficulty seeing objects she needed to
collect. I was able to brighten the screen to the point
that they became visable. Since then she has had
problems with other games. I updated the video driver
and have since been unable to find the brightness
control. If I remember correctly the control was found at
ControlPanel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Monitor>Properties.
The Video card in a Nvidia TNT2 Model 64. I am not if
the Brightness Control was a feature of the old driver
and not available on the updated version or if I'm a
bonehead and looking in the wrong place for it.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

The monitor itself will have a brightness control, which affects the black
level, and a contrast control, which affects the whites. They interact.

In monitor adaptor software, check all tabs. Configurations vary,
depending upon the driver software. There may be a brightness, contrast
and GAMMA settings. Gamma controls black "stretch".

For a more thorough explanation, without extensive tech jargon, and test
pages for correct monitor set up...
