Tom

Each time I boot up Xp I get a message

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program
Files\bridge.dll The specified module could not be found.

It doesnt seem to affect the computer at all but Im
wondering what this bridge.dll file is and is it
essential or how can I get it back or just stop the
message coming up as I just have to click OK on this each
time and it obviously isnt right???

Thanks for any help you can give :-)

Tom,

The file is spyware releated ,download a spyware program such as SpyBot,
CWShredder etc. and run it.

Should remove this from your system.

Bridge.dll belongs to something that is known adware. It sounds like the
adware may have been removed but a registry entry is still calling for the
bridge.dll file at startup. You may need to remove that registry reference
manually.

The article linked below has details about the changes the adware made to
the system and its removal:

Sharon - Great stuff - that did it.

I read the article and followed thru with the regedit
command and found the line in the registry that was
trying to start bridge.dll and deleted it.
I had previously run spybot s&d so it was just left with
that line in the reg causing the error ... thnks a lot
guys I feel a lot better now. Cheers, Tom.

You're most welcome, Tom. Glad to hear this is fixed for you now.
