(BP) What does MVP mean next to people's names?

Some says it means Most Valuable Pig but I think it is:

Most Valuable Pirate

If you look at Michael Stevens' website, he is supplying tools to pirate
M$ software. He specialises in such things.

MVPs are not Microsoft employees, but volunteers. The title "MVP" is
honorary, and MVPs get awarded the title by providing regular helpful
advice, here in the newsgroups and elsewhere.

You sound a lot like a guy that's posted under the persona of "Fat
Bastard."

Michael links to tools that are perfectly legal. Only a totally idiot
would think that Michael would help anyone pirate software.

Saying Michael Stevens is a "Most Valuable Pirate," would be like
calling me Microsoft's Most Valuable EULA Advocate. Totally
rediculous.

Most Valuable Professional.

And most actually deserve the title, though a very few aren't.

Carey Frisch. He does help people, but has a major tendency of not
actually answering what has been asked, and many, if not most of his
replies are just copying and pasting the answers of others. But his
biggest flaw is that he refuses to ever admit his mistakes. To me,
that
is totally unprofessional.

Juppy Jones. Does he ever answer peoples' questions? Mostly all he
does is be the Microsoft Watch Dog. A MS attack Juppy Dog!

But overall, I'd have to say that the idiots and attack dogs are the
exception to the rule, that the MVPs here are a great help to those
that
need it.

Just to add, some MVPs do not identify themselves as MVPs in online forums
and have not listed themselves on the Microsoft MVP site at the URL posted
by Mike.

I agree. Most MVPs do a really good job under the barrage of
questions with usually no thanks at all.. As for Carey Frisch, she
should be cut 'n pasted into the bit bucket.

By the looks of his picture in the MVP private web pages, Carey is a
man.

LOL! That was taken after the operations and hormone therapy!
