BOX WITH A RED CROSS

I sometimes am unable to see a page on the Internet.

All that is displayed is a small box with a red cross in the middle, in the
top right hand corner of the screen, .

Does anyone know what this means?

Sounds like, in some cases, the ad blocker, firewall or whatever may doing
the user a favor with a red X.
