one more then...

if i was wanting to bound this information into a table... how do i bound it
to a coloum and have the formula in the same box?

so... =IIf([overall] = 1,"Pass","Fail") ...then how do i put this data into
coloum 'Outcome'?

You don't. Data that can be derived from stored data should not be stored.
It should be calculated as needed.
 
so i cannot store the 'pass' or 'fail' result into a table?

You don't. Data that can be derived from stored data should not be stored.
It should be calculated as needed.
