how can i set the margins in the access reports to zero?
it keeps coming back to 12.7

thanks

Some printers don't allow margins that small. If the print driver doesn't
allow it, Access won't either.

Before upgrading computers and upgrading to Windows XP from Windows 98, I was able to set margins to 0.00. Now with XP and in Access, I can't. It could possibly be a problem with the operating system and NOT Access or your printer. In Windows 98, there was an option in the printer options area that would allow you to manually configure the "printable area". In XP, there is not. I am feverishly trying to resolve this myself because I have exisitng documents now that will have to be completely redesigned in Access if I can't find an answer. I will let you know what I find - if anything.

I'm using the same printer and am converting from an business application that was written in Access 2, to an application that is written in Access 2003. When I print in Access 2 to a dot matrix printer I can have the bottom margin set to "0", but when I print from Access 2003, I can not get the bottom margin to remain at "0", therefore, if is there something about Access 2003, that won't allow a '0' bottom margin, since the printer does accept a 'zero' bottom margin in Access 2?

thank you for you help...

Are you using the same operating system as you did with Access 2? Printing
is from the operating system, not from the application.

As I understand it, Steve, recent versions of Access, like most Windows
programs with printing capabilities, query the printer driver for its
capabilities, and will not accept a margin smaller than the printers
minimum. I don't think there's any workaround other than adjusting the
report margins.

One of my colleagues here has worked on Access 2 conversions more recently
than I have, but he's not available at the moment. If you like, post a
reminder here tomorrow, and I'll ask him if he has any other suggestions.

As Brendan states in his post, Access 2000 gets the margin from the print
driver, and that may be different behaviour than in Access 2.0

Thank you for responding...
Yes, I'm using the same computer and the old business application is
written in Access 2 and the new one is written in Access 2000. The PC is
running Windows 2000.
