Boots up only the second time

Hello,

the motherboard is an Asus P4R800-V deluxe and when I turn the pc on, it
won't boot and gets stucked right in the initial mb screen, hard drive led
always on. I push the reset button and then, restarts and boots normally.
This never happened a while ago, the only major change in the system I can
be suspicious of, is a recent PSU change. Anyone heard of this?

Thanks a lot

It is something hardware related, that is pretty certain.

Check the new PSU carefully, especially all of the power connectors to
the motherboard and disk drives.

It sounds to me like some component is not performing properly when it
is first powered up but after the power has been on for a brief period
it warms up and then begins to function. A poorly seated power
connector could cause this type of behavior under the right
circumstances.

Good luck

Hi, if the issue is occuring systematically(always), clear the CMOS(usually
by shorting a jumper) and replace the CMOS battery. If issue persists,
disconnect the hard disk cable, set the drive type to "Auto" in BIOS and see
if the computer subsequently boots in one go.
