Hi, I have a problem to boot a Windows XP OS on an external USB 2.0 HDD.

Note : I have the choice in my computer's Bios ( Phoenix on SS15G).

Must I modify something in boot.ini?.

Note 2 : I installed XP when the hard disk was installed (internally) in the computer. Afterwards, I put the hard disk in external enclosure with USB/Firewire interface.

Thanks.

What kind of an error are you getting?

Although it seems likely, I'm not sure if you're going to
have to change boot.ini or not. But I also suspect that
you are going to have problems with the harddrive
controller drivers being different as well. (The harddrive
was running from your motherboard IDE controller before;
now it is running from the USB controller)

To fix this problem you may have to repair the
isntallation by booting from the Windows XP CD. Steps on
how to perform this can be found by following this link:

Look under the section titled:
Windows Installation CD - Repair Current Installation:

Hope this helps.
