Booting the CD

I am attempting to format my hard drive in XP Pro.
I have already set the CD to boot first in the BIOS, however it stil
will not boot to the CD. Please help

What happens after you set the bios to boot to the cd first , ok the change
and put the cd in the tray ? Jym
 
Do other cd's boot if so then you xp cd may be faulty, damaged or
non-bootable upgrade version

Hi,

You have to press a key on the keyboard within ten seconds of the boot
or it will boot to the harddrive.

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.

Same thing here, until all other drives were disabled in the BIOS -
leaving the CD drive as the only choice.

When you go back into the BIOS to see if your settings were saved have they been?
