Booting problem

Hi,
We own a Dell 4450 with Win XP home. When we boot up, the system goes to
the desktop but there are no icons, no start menu, nothing except the desktop
background. What is causing this? Thanks. Dr. P.

Try this:
- Click Ctrl+Shift+Esc
- Click Applications / New Task / Explorer {OK}
