Like many on this group, I'm attempting to re-install XP Pro. I'm
experiencing a problem booting from my CD. The CD is 'hanging' and is giving
me the following message....'Boot CD-ROM type: CD-ROM/non-emulation Booting'

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Does other CDs boot on your CD-ROM drive? Does your CD boot on other
computers/CD-ROMs?

The disc in question boots up ok on my desktop but not on my laptop, however
other discs boots up ok on my laptop.

For the record, its my laptop Im trying to re-format.

Did you try to burn a fresh copy of the CD and see if that booted on your
laptop?

Alternatively, try to boot your laptop from an MS-DOS/Win9x floppy, make a
FAT partition, copy the entire \i386 folder from your CD to your new FAT
partition and run winnt.exe from there.
