i have dell gx240 with os-xp, on boot it says press F1 to
reboot and F2 to enter system settings.

on pressing F1 nothing happen.

Your system disk might not be set "active". You
can fix it like so:
- Boot the machine with a Win98 boot disk from
www.bootdisk.com.
- Run fdisk.exe.
- Set your primary partition to "active".
