This problem was present before I upgraded to Windows
XP. My computer will not boot without using a Windows XP
disc to Boot from. When I boot I get the message "no
operating system found on any disc, so I put in my XP
disc and boot from it, this seems to be all the problem.
How do I restore the boot up files to my hard drive?

- Boot with your WinXP CD
- Get into Command Console mode
- Run these commands:
fixboot
fixmbr

If this does not fix the problem, do this:
- Boot with a Win98 boot disk (www.bootdisk.com)
- Run fdisk.exe
- Make sure that your WinXP partition is set to "active".

By the way, what exactly is your "Windows XP disc"?
