Hello everyone,

How do i clear a boot up password in an IBM T22 type 2647 laptop?

Try going into the computer's Setup (CMOS) settings to disable the password.
If this doesn't work, try removing the battery. You may have to leave the
battery out for awhile.

If this doesn't help, try posting question on an IBM forum

I've removed the battery but just for a couple of minutes. i'll leav it out
for a longer time..

Read the instructions carefully. Assuming that you are attempting to reset a
Power On Password, you have to remove two different batteries -- the main
battery and the backup battery.

Here is a link you should save and become familiar with:

Most motherboards have a three-pin header which is used to discharge the
CMOS memory. You don't have to remove batteries at all. The normal
"run" configuration has a jumper between pins 2 and 3. You move this to
1 and 2 for a split second to discharge it and then return it back to 2
and 3. (Circuit-wise, this jumper isolates the battery).
