Greetings!

Using WIN XP HOME w/ SP2 updated. And, Nero Express 6.6

I would like to back-up my skimpy, meager, "C" drive to DVD's. Should
take two, at most 3 discs. It must be a bootable disc, however, says
Nero.

So, how do I make a bootable CD disc? Nero says to use a bootable
floppy disk. How do I make a bootable floppy disk?

Why does my 78 year old brain try to reject all this complicated stuff?

HELP?

Thanks very much for all the great help in th past!

Mike,
Your best bet would be to use cloning software. Look at the list below, but
I would recommend Terybyte Image as a low cost full featured cloning
application.
BootIT NG from Terabyte
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
Drive Image from Power Quest
http://www.powerquest.com/
Symantec Ghost.

My favourite method goes like this:
1. Boot the machine with an Acronis TrueImage Recovery CD.
2. Create an image file of the system disk. Park it on an
external USB disk.

This approach has the following advantages:
- It is very simple.
- It is very reliable. Since it creates an image while Windows is off,
there is no issue with locked files etc.
- I can restore this image to a completely blank disk, because
I can boot the machine with my Acronis CD.
- I can create a sequence of images. I might, for example, create
a first image before a Service Pack installation, and a second
one after the installation. Two weeks later the system misbehaves.
I now have the choice which image to restore.

Note that imaging works best when you store your data files
on a separate drive, not on the system drive.
