Is it possible to boot up to the recovery console without
admin password? I have a system that seems to have
errors on the drive preventing it from booting into
Windows XP. I know if I can run chkdsk /r it'll probably
fix it. Unfortunately, the owner has no idea what his
Admin password is. All I want to do is run chkdsk on
it. Is there any way to do this without having to login?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

The system in the link above can reset the Administrator
password offline.

and this as well from the link above:

Newsflash at 2004-01-16:

Support for easy change of RecoveryConsole parameters (one of
them tells RecoveryConsole to NOT ask for admin password).

Try a blank password. If the owner never changed it, that is the
default.

password).

Glad you got it sorted. Thanks for letting us know.
