Boot Problems

History:
Attempted to install a second hard drive on an existing
system and windows installation, and set up a RAID
array. The RAID controller deleted the partition table,
rendering the existing data inaccessible. Windows
Recovery console does not see the installation. Windows
reports that the drive is totally unallocated.

I have used a utility to recover the partition. Now
windows sees the partition and I can log onto it with the
recovery console. Im still not out of the woods yet and
have hit a wall. I cannot get the computer to boot off
the recovered partition. How do I get windows to set
this as the system and boot partition, and not be able to
get into windows to do it?? I tried rebuilding the
BootCFG and I still get the dreaded "Invalid Boot Disk"
error. So close, yet so far... Any Ideas????

I got it...

Used a third Hard Drive (from another computer) to load
Windows 2000. (Had to install drivers to support the
RAID controller) Using the Disk Management snapin, Set
the problem partition active. Shut down the system and
removed the 3rd drive. Restarted the machine and Windows
XP went into the setup screen and repaired the remaining
problems. Reactivation was required, no problem there.
Works fine now; DATA Recovered...
