I'm currently running Windows 98SE. I tried installing
Windows XP Pro, but it was not an upgrade version. I
canceled the install, but now when I boot up my computer
I'm promped if I want to run 1.XP setup or 2. Windows 98.
How can I get rid of the setup files and get rid of this
message. Thanks in advance. Jason

You cannot perform an upgrade operation with an OEM CD (i.e. it says "For
sale only with a new PC"). If you have a computer old enough to be running
Windows 98, then there is a strong chance it may not be a good candidate for
a Windows XP Upgrade. Your system should be: a P-III or better; have 256 MB
of RAM or more; have a hard disk of 10 GB or more, with at least 2 to 4 GB
of free space available.
In the root folder, if you find files named boot.ini and NTLDR, rename
those files (i.e. boot.old and NTLDR.old for example) and reboot the
computer. You should boot straight into Windows 98 SE.
If your system is able to handle an Upgrade, you need the Upgrade
version, and I'd suggest a clean install rather than an upgrade operation to
start free of the vestiges of Windows 98.
