I have my old HDD with Win98.
I have a new HDD with a virgin install of XP.
No partitions.
Both are installed.
Currently I go to the BIOS to multi-boot.
Is there an Boot.ini edit I can make to make XP multi-boot now?

I've tried bootcftg /copy /d operating system description /ID# using 1 & 2
as #.
It didn't seem to do anything.

I used:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WIN98="Microsoft Windows 98" /fastdetect

Result: XP and Win98 won't boot... just "Windows" the third option. :-/

How do I install Windows 98/Me after I've installed XP?

See method at

But I don't advise it. It would probably play hell with drive letter
assignments in your case. Get an independent boot manager, eg BootIT
NG, from http://www.BootitNG.com ($35 shareware - 30 day full functional
trial)

Hi, Dallas, I did this with Vista and Xp on a dual partition. If I loaded
Vista first and then used the remaining partition to load XP--- Vista did not
recognize that XP existed. If I loaded XP first and then loaded Vista, XP is
listed as "The Older Version of Windows"; thusly, giving me both options.
