Boot Failure

I'm running XP Professional. Recently, I loaded a new priner driver. After
doing so, the operating system wouldn't boot. It went through several steps
- I got the loading Windows XP screen, then it just stoped. The light on the
CD-Rom went on just prior to the system freezing as if it was looking for
some information from a CD. I started Windows in the safe mode and removed
the printer drivers which i had just loaded. The operating system started
normally. Thinking I had the problem solved, I shut down the computer. I
haven't been able to boot it since. I can start it in the safe mode but when
I try to start it normally, it runs through several steps until the CD-Rom
light goes on, then stops when it can't find the information it's looking
for. System restore also does't work - it gets hung up in the same spot.
Any help would be most appreciated

Have you tried resetting the BIOS so that it tries first to boot
from a hard drive instead of from a CD?
