My computer will not boot up, at first it was a driver problem
(SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ISAPNP.SYS.) It would not let me start it in safe mode just
keeped going in a restart loop.F8 would not work. Took it to have a
diagnostic test to be told its a driver problem and needs WindowsXP reinstall
and my harddrive backed up cost £65.Told them i would think about it and had
it back (rippoff or what) .Tried it again this morning now comes up with
(Disc boot error, insert disk and press enter).Do i use the windows xp disc?
will this wipe my drive? or should i make a bootup on floppy disc and use
that?. Sorry there's so many Questions don't want to screw it up. Thanks

Make sure the HDD is cabled correctly, maybe the technician removed
the power or data cable and didn't reconnect..., but without knowing
your system details [IDE or SATA HDD etc] , check in BIOS setup that
your HDD is configured correctly.

You can do a repair installation, this will not destroy your
existing data, BUT I would recommend you do backup important stuff off the
HDD [CD-R or DVD-R etc] just in case something goes wrong.....
