Is it possible to download a boot disk or burn one from another computer, or
do I have to go out and buy a new one?

It is possible to download several boot disk types. What type of
bootdisk are you looking for?

you mean like
emergency bootup disks?

or preinstallation disks
like "barts pe"?

What do you mean by boot disk? Do you mean the XP installation CD? If so,
yes just copy one. It has to be the same type as what you have to work with
the product key you have. It has to match as to
Home v. Pro
Retail Full v. Retail Upgrade v.Generic OEM v. Branded OEM v. Volume License
Language Version

If it's a retail CD if you have proof of purchase:
How to Replace Lost, Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or Hardware

If it's OEM and the OEM has gone out of business, MS might help:
800-426-9400 to replace a CD; 800-325-1233 if OEM dealer has gone out of
business and need to replace a CD.

Otherwise contact the OEM from which you got it, though the odds are they
won't help.

I need a Windows XP Home boot disk.

What do you mean by a boot disk? Do you mean the XP installation CD? That
is bootable. If not then be more specific on what you are trying to do.
Didn't you see any of the other replies to your original post?
