When I formatted a 3.5 floppy, I created a boot disk. When I boot from this
disk, all I can access is the a: drive. How do I get access to the c: drive
when booted from the boot disk. I also need access to my CD drive while
booted from the a: drive. Thanks

Your c: drive is presumbly NTFS and therefore isn't visible to MSDOS.

In general, most people running Windows XP don't need access to their hard
drives from a boot diskette, because the Windows XP CD is bootable, and
contains the recovery console, which gives them DOS-like abilities. DOS boot
diskettes are close to obsolete, and the CD becomes your emegency recovery
disk.

However, if you must do this, you can get third-party software, like
NTFSDOS, which adds the ability to see NTFS drives to a boot diskette. The
free version of NTFSDOS provides read-only access. The paid version is
required for read/write access.
