To change F to C will require reinstalling XP after making that partition
active.
After the reinstallation, change the active partition back to the original
active partition.

: directory is F:\", you actually mean that your system
: drive is F:. You most likely installed WinXP on drive
: F:. The answer, unfortunately, is that when Windows
: is installed on drive X: then it must always run off drive
: X:. This is because the registry is full of references to
: drive X:. If you changed the system drive letter to C:
: (which is quite easy) then you would have a very
: unhappy installation.
