I have a strange problem that happened to my PC. I turned
on my computer Monday morning and found that all the
windows now display bold font. I tried going into the
Display control panel and changing the font back to
regular font but the font is still bold in the active
window.

Here's what I did. I went to the Display control panel and
clicked on the "Apperance" tab. I clicked on the portion
that saids "Window Text" to try to unbold the font but the
program doesn't let me change the font size or style.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks

Did you ever get an answer to this? I had a similar problem (not only
are my fonts bold, but also changed from MS Sans Serif to Tahoma)
and posted a question a few days ago but have not received any
suggestions or a solution.

The simple solution seemed to be to change the display settings to
use the right font. This was only a partial solution, as it had four
problems:

- it had to be done to every user separately
- most of the font settings were changed, so it was an involved process
- the "Window Text" was non-modifiable, so the change is still there
- "system-owned" (my term) things could not be chaged, like the
login dialog

It really peeves me off that there is no real customer support for
Microsoft products, unless you pay extra for it, not that we aren't
paying enough already. All you have is to look at technical bulletins
and releses (which are fine for problems already known), and these
newsgroups (which leaves you at the mercy of someone posting a
response if they happen to see your question.

Given that the level of technical support for legal users of MS products
is insignificantly better than what one gets with pirated software, one
wonders why piracy isn't worse than it is.
