Bluetooth Devices in XP

Can anyone help me in getting my bluetooth phone to talk to my computer.
When I look under help topics, it says that I should have a Bluetooth
Devices tab under Printers and other hardware BUT I HAVENT!!
Am I being particularly stupid. I have the latest MSN updates including
service pack 2
Any help would be much appreciated

Does your computer even have bluetooth?
(It's hardware - not just software.)

By MSN updates - you must mean Microsoft updates?

the dongle in the computer but it still does not show up.

Does your computer even have bluetooth?
(It's hardware - not just software.)

If you do not have the hardware - all the software in the world is not going
to make bluetooth miraculously work.

(It's hardware - not just software.)

If you do not have the hardware - all the software in the world is not going
to make bluetooth miraculously work.

Also - you have to install the drivers for said hardware. If it has a
driver disk (instructions even) with whatever hardware you purchase - use
those. Otherwise - this is a manufacturer - not necessarily a Windows XP
issue. You have to get the correct drivers for your Bluetooth device in
order for Windows XP to communicate with it. Without said driver - which is
supplied by those who make said bluetooth device - you will have no
bluetooth device to speak of.
