Blue *.tmp file?

Hi All

I have just deleted 500 odd *.tmp files from my system, but I am still concerned about one blue file! This file is called CONFIG TMP & when I hover with the cursor there is info about System 32 modified on 21 01 2003 & it is 4KB in size. Jupiter Jones kindly pointed out blue means compressed, but my PC was purchased in August 2003 as new, so this file was created prior to my owning it
If anyone can help, then I thankyou in advance

Ian.

Can you be more descriptive about what you mean by blue
file?

Your disk was probably imaged. It's when the install CD was made by the manufacturer.

When I type *.tmp into search & results are found, there are 500 odd tmp files in black text & this one near the end in blue text? Jupiter Jones said it means that it is a compressed file, but I just want to make sure it`s not inmportant before finally deleting. Thanks again, Ian

It's almost certainly safe to delete. In many years I personally have never
seen a problem deleting a *.tmp file.

If you're overly concerned rename it, move it to somewhere else or put it in
the recycle bin. If you have no problems then delete it.
