This is the third time tonight trying to post to this group. My computer has
been shooting blue screen at me all evening (nine to this point). I've been
having this problem for the past several weeks and can't get it resolved. The
original post tonight was about the message on the screen:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware of software is properly installed. If
this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for
any windows updater you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you
need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer,
press F8 to select advanced Starup Options, and then select s safe mode.

Before I was told it might be my computer overheating, so I moved it back to
the desktop next to my work station. I was told it might be a memory problem.
I am running on an AMD 2400 processor (2GgHz) with 1G of RAM in 2 - 512M
sticks. I tried to run the memtest and can't get the computer to boot from
it. It always skips the CD and loads windows; so I went into the bios and set
the start from a:, then D: and disabled my C: drive altogether. I just got
errors. I tried to get a boot disk for XP, but all I can get my hands on is
one that wants to reinstall XP again (something I've already done 5 times
this month).
I've tried removing each of the memory sticks tonight and got the same
problem with each of them running independently.
As I was trying to post, the beautiful blue appeared again:
A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or
been M terminated.
If this is the first time you've seen this top error screen, restart your
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If
this is a new installtion, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any
windows updates you might need
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disavle BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you
need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer,
press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then selct SAfe Mode.

When I rebooted, it happened again as I was posting:
A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or
been terminated.

I'd love to get this resolved. Any suggestions?
