I am attempting to completely re-install Windows XP Pro
from my OEM CD. I had Windows XP Pro already installed.
Windows Setup completes filing loading, then attempts to
start Windows. At this point, I get a blue screen with
the following error messages:
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
*** STOP: 0x000000ED (0x8234FB50 0xC0000010, 0x00000000,
0X00000000).

Using the Maxtor Diagnostic floppy, I verified the hard
drive is working and completely reformatted the drive. I
still get the same results, even after the reformat.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Carey. I have already been to this Knowledge Base
Article. I performed the first two steps (made sure I
have the right cable, loaded fail safe settings) and
received the same result.

The other option, damaged file system, I did not perform
the recovery because the second parameter of the stop
error is not as noted.

Do you have any further suggestions?
