hi

please could anyone help.

I have suddenly developed a problem with a blue screen called
bad_pool_caller. I was unable to resolve this issue I decided to try a repair
of xp pro I get to within 24 mins of completion and the same blue screen
appears again.

the error message suggests I make some changes to the bios however when i am
in setup I am unable to access the bios menu. bios help states to press f9
however when I press the key nothing happens.

I would very much appreciate it if any one has a fix to this problem?

thanks for your attention.

The problem is a driver -most likely a third party driver for hardware
or software recently installed. A Repair Install of Windows XP would not
solve the problem.

Do you have data to recover? If yes you may be able to access and
recover the data on the drive by placing the drive in an external cradle
and connecting to a working computer.

Background information on Stop Error message
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms796120.aspx

BAD_POOL_CALLER2: BAD_POOL_CALLER
(A kernel-mode process or driver incorrectly attempted to perform memory
operations. Typically, a faulty driver or buggy software causes this.

I have not tried this approach but BART PE might provide a way to gain
access

However, if you have recovered important data files I would opt for a
simpler new clean install of Windows. Remember even if you gain access
you
are still faced with the difficult task of identifying the cause of the
problem.

Hope this helps.
