Hi,
I always heard of repair installation, but what actually does that mean? I
remember there's a repair option when I boot into the cd, is that the one? I
remember that everytime when the OS crash, i try this option, but it doesn't
work at all..... Or repair installation is some other thing? Thx.

Hi

Boot with the XP CD in the drive. When you see the message on the boo
screen to "Press any key in order to boot from the CD," do so

After loading drivers and files, you should be taken to a screen wit
the following

To Setup Windows XP now, press ENTER
To Repair a Windows XP Installation using Recovery Console press R
To Quit setup without installing Windows XP, press F3

In your case, press ENTER

Agree to the License agreement by pressing F8

You will then be taken to a screen with two options

To repair the selected Windows XP installation press R
To continue installing a fresh copy of Windows XP without repairing
press ESC

Now, you should press the "R" key to perform a repair installation of XP
Do not disturb until you are prompted to do so

A repair installation most likely will not help him as that is (if it occurs
immediately after installation) a hardware fault.

0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
A system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not
catch. There are numerous individual causes for this problem, including
hardware incompatibility, a faulty device driver or system service, or some
software issues. Check Event Viewer (EventVwr.msc) for additional
information.
If he can boot to safe mode, he should consult the error log in the Event
Viewer.

Hi,
Can I ask what will the repair installation does? Does it overwrite the
system file, or the entire drive? Will my program still works after that?
Will it delete my important files? Thx.

Hi,
I can't boot in to safe mode either.... Actually, if I format the harddisk
and reinstall the OS, will that solve the problem? Thx.

Adrian,

It's a *HARDWARE* fault - it'd suspect either your hard drive or the RAM.
You could reinstall a thousand times and still have the same issue.
