Hi All,

The ntsysmgr.exe and sysmgr.exe is affected with the
Bloodhound.W32.EP virus. I have installed Norton
Systemworks 2004 in my system, but it is not able to
remove the virus.

Actually it is during pre-load scan that NAV gives this
message. The laptop does not function properly when the
NAV is installed. I get a message (svchost.exe is not
functioning properly as soon as the desktop comes up).

Without NAV installed I am able to work for some time,
but after couple of hours a message comes which
says "Windows NT manager has detected a problem, the
system will be shut down, please save your work".

I am not able to connect to either symantec.com or
windows update sites properly from my laptop, and I do
not have a separate computer.

Could you please let me know how can I get rid of the
Virus ?

Thanks
Pritam.

The symptoms you have described sound exactly like the
sasser worm virus, I had this and the way to remedy it is
to get on the net with another computer and print out the
removal instructions from microsoft. They tell you how to
disable the exe file that is infected, this is done by
using the REG edit fuction, the instructions that
microsoft give you are very good. Then they tell you to
connect to the net and download a security update, and
finaly a tool to retreive the virus. hope this helps good
luck
