Blocking a website from XP

Hi,

I was wondering, is there a way to block access to a website from XP
operating system?

How about a website that automatically downloads updates?

Hi again,

I added the website to the restricted zone - the site still comes up...is
there a way that will allows me to make so the site doesn't come up?

One method is to add the website to your hosts file and give
it an IP address of 127.0.0.1 (local host) which causes it to
go nowhere. The hosts file is typically in the
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc folder for XP
