It appears I have been blocked from posting messages in the Microsoft news
groups. I have been unsuccessful in posting messages about Outlook for the
last 3 days. Has any one else experienced this?

Is your ISP Frontier Communications, or an affiliate? They've been having
problems for at least the past 2 weeks.

I am not sure. I am surprised this one got thru.

You're using Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1506 not Outlook.

Call your ISP's tech support line. Some ISPs (like mine) contract out for
their news service. It's entirely possible that mine uses the same 3rd
parter provider as yours, so the problem could be a common one.

If you really haven't changed ANYTHING on your computer since the problem
began (different firewall, AV software, new router, etc), be sure to tell
them. Otherwise, they'll waste your time trying to get you to uninstall
this, that & the other thing.

Try hooking to Microsoft's newsserver itself. You do not need your ISP's
newsservive to do this:

newsserver: msnews.microsoft.com
newsgroup: microsoft.public.windowsxp.general

Outlook uses Outlook Express as its newsreader. So your question about
Outlook is irrelevant.

And obviously you aren't blocked.

Thanks for this link. I was not aware of it. Had been using
"news.microsoft.com"

My question in not irrelevant. The question was has any one else experienced
their postings being blocked.
I did not say I was using Outlook as a news reader. Where you got this from
is any ones guest.
See you spoke out of turn again!!!.

Yes, you are correct and I cannot read English.

Your OP stated:
"I have been unsuccessful in posting messages about Outlook..."

Not what I *thought* I read

"I have been unsuccessful in posting messages with Outlook..."

news.microsoft.com and msnews.microsoft.com resolve to the same IP address.
They are just two IP names to the same IP address.

So just what does "unsuccessful" supposed to mean as it is vague and says
NOTHING about what is actually happening. Could be there are no errors in
OE but you don't see the posts showing up (after awhile to give the NNTP
server the time to check and submit your post). Could be you are getting
errors in OE but decided not to tell us what they were. Could be you are
using rules or a view that hides or deletes any posts with your name on
them. Could be you are using an NNTP server that refuses to allow binary
attachments on posts submitted to non-binary newsgroups which means they
accept your post, see there is a binary attachment, and simply discard it,
but you don't know about it because the discarding is done outside of your
NNTP session with the server. I think the Microsoft NNTP server will accept
attachments in posts.
