Not too familiar with windows XP. Just wonder how to block IPs from
accessing the machine?

IPs from where? What is your network setup? Domain or Workgroup? Using a
router? What firewall do you use? Version/Service Pack level of XP?

You can block an IP address by adding it to the host file which is located
in: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Make a backup of your original HOST file before making any changes.
Note that this is text file but has no file extension and is named HOST
Add an entry using notepad below the localhost entry (two examples shown
below) as save it without using a file extension

127.0.0.1 localhost

# Blocked Addresses
127.0.0.1 ad2.adcept.net
127.0.0.1 207.228.225.5
