Tried and failed many exorcisms of Swen. Much $ lost on downloaded
fixes and tech time. I think the techies are too savvy to have to
repair Swen on their own machines and propose fixes that should
work... like the laughable system restore disable (You do it in 'Safe
Mode', they sagely observe...No, No that does not work either, no
access.) After the fixes the Virus Scans show successful eradications,
but the worm lurks beneath the radar...doing its thing.
So, time to erase the whole drive and reinstall WinXP . Can someone
point me to a cookbook way to do this?
eternally grateful for any help,
Carl

Carl;
Clean Installation
Disconnect all peripherals (camera, printer, scanner, etc)
Disconnect network/modem cable.
Go to BIOS and set CDROM as boot device before hard drive.
Insert Windows XP CD and reboot.
At "Press any key to boot to CDROM" quickly press a key and follow the
prompts for a Clean installation:

Delete all partitions in step 5 if you desire to erase all data on the
hard drive.
Partitioning and formatting will be done automatically.
All data will be destroyed, back-up important data first.

Enable or install firewall BEFORE connecting network cable.
