blinking power light

I recently added a faster cd burner to my hewlett packard
computer. Since I installed the burner, my computer's
power light slowly blinks. Also Windows XP already
supplies the drivers for my drive. I am trying to fix
this so if anybody knows how please reply.

Is this the power light (red) or your hard drive light (green) that is
blinking? It would not be unusual to see the hard drive light blink
especially if you have a lot of disk activity.

If it is your powerlight then shutdown, open the case and ensure all
connections are firmly in place. You may have wiggled a connection lose when
you installed the burner.

To save $0.20 some major brands dont even come with a HDD light. Stupid.
