blaster worm

I need help. i tried to install the update for xp because of the blaster worm but when i open the patch it says it cannot verify the update.inf file

I assume I may still have the Blaster Worm but am not sure, have installed a second virus scanner and have removed the NACHI.B virus from svchost.exe and another cannot remember(MSUPDATE.EXE?), seems to be clean at the moment, but am getting same error as Rico, do I need to follow the same steps as he seems to have to do

Yes, follow them both carefully.
Start with the Blaster fix and then the other if the issue still
exists.
There is no problem performing these actions if they are not needed.
