I just bought a used pc with XP and I've been having a shutdown problem. The popup notice of a shutdown includes a 1 minute timer, and refers to LSA Shell (Export Version). It mentions the following file: WINDOWS/system32/lsass.exe, status code 1073741819.

Is this the Blaster worm or something else . . ? Thanks for any help.....

FIRST step with ANY used PC. Wipe/Zero the drive. Install the OS you

That is a basic windows component - which is failing to close when
shutdown asks it to. Look at the extensive troubleshooter at James
Eshelman's page:
specific XP section at
