I have a computer that takes at least 5 minutes to boot once it goes through
applying settings, finding network connections and the login. It will just
sit at a blue screen. I have run a chkdisk /r /f, run spyware programs,
checked the boot.ini, etc. and nothing is out of the ordinary. Anyone know
of any issues with software (they have a lot of Adobe programs loaded) or
other that may cause this?

Thanks!

Karl Burrows fumbled, fiddled and fingered:

Check your DNS settings, this sort of issue is often DNS related.

Approaching hard disk failure?
I had problems starting some time ago like slow or difficult booting,
losing profiles etc.

Recently S.M.A.R.T. warnings during boot-up started and finally I had to
replace the boot disk.
I don't know whether your HDD is S.M.A.R.T. capable but if so I would do a
check on that drive e.g. with SpeedFan:

It is freeware and does the job very well.

It is possible that the HDD already started deteriorating but warning was
disabled in your BIOS. Otherwise you would have received indication it was
going down. Still presuming your HDD is S.M.A.R.T.able.
