blank page appears when link clicked in OE

When I click on a link in an OE email, IE comes up but
remains a blank page. I have to copy the link and paste
it into IE for it to work. It didn't used to do this. I
use WinXP Home.
 
Mine has the same defect and I can't get it to work even
if I paste it. What's the deal with that?
