Blank excel spreadsheet

When I try to open a new blank spreadsheet, the row tab is shown in the
right and sliding bar on the left. Column A goes to the right as well as the
worksheet tabs. However when I open a saved spreadsheet, it looks normal.
How can I fix this problem?

Krish,

It sounds like the right-to-left setting is enabled. To see if
this is the case, go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the
International tab. There, ensure that the direction settings are
left-to-right, not right-to-left.

If this occurs on all new workbooks, search for a file named
Book.xlt in the XLStart folder(s), open this template, and change
the default direction settings.
