I have two users set up on my computer using XP and Office 2003. One user
can type and send emails with no problem. The other user can type emails but
they arrive blank. They are even blank in the "sent" folder.

I can figure out why.

Have you already applied Office 2003 Service Pack 1?

obvious question. Have you tried selecting the blank emails with your
mouse (in the text area I mean) and seeing if a load of highlighted text
appears? My first thought was that background and foreground colours are
being set to the same thing.

Yes, Service Pack 1 has been applied.

I had the same idea but there doesn't seem to be any text there. I can type
and email, see the text and it disappears when I hit send.

The person receiving the email gets a blank email and it's blank in the sent
folder. The other user has no problem. My understanding is both users are
using the same version of Outlook. It's only a question of preferences, not
a new installation of the same software.

sorry, that was about the end of my knowlege.

I'm not good with Outlook really, I'm more of a Notes/Domino type :) I
only look here because some of my clients use it :)

No offence meant to anyone.

It's a long shot, but try this: at a command line prompt, enter REGSVR32
INETCOMM.DLL . This has helped cases where the received messasges have been
blank (not the sent messages), but it can't hurt.

Brian,

Thanks for the try, but that didn't do it. I'm stumped. I guess I'm going
to have to break down and call Microsoft.

I have been having that same problem lately, I also have noticed that in
Outlook, tools-options mail format tab, if the compose message is set to rich
text and the use word 2003 to edit email messages is checked in the client
sending the email. The recipient usually gets a blank body. The temporary fix
is to send emails using html and uncheck use word to edit emails.

We get this happening intermittently since we upgraded to Server / Office
2003 at xmas. Sometimes it only strips part of the message too rather than
the whole body and seems to happen more when attachments are sent. I tried
removing the word editor options and I now use HTML format but it still
happens. Have you had any joy resolving, did you try MS ?
