blank document trouble

every time i open up microsoft word it opens up a
document that i had previously worked on. when i click
on "NEW" in the file menu it opens up that same doc.

somehow that document has been saved as the blank
document. how can i change that back?

Heh! I went through that yesterday. Somehow, I'd made a
landscape page as my default and I could only print on half
of it! I changed it back to portrait and it took me at
least an hour of swearing about how f***ed up the program
was before I noticed that the settings were for 1/2 page.
Then I spend at least 2 hours fretting about how to fix it.

In the end, I put it back into landscape... dragged the
ruler settings out to the margin and saved it as default.
Then I resaved the default in portrait.

End of problem. I'm happy now.
