My helpdesk technician called to tell me we have a system
that when you open the Add Remove Programs, the page is
blank. If you go to the Windows Components, or another
area the page shows up just fine. I have been searching
the Microsoft Knowledge Base to no avail. Any ideas out
there?

Did anyone edit the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACH_Software\microsoft\windows\current version\uninstall? All
programs in add/remove are listed there and if it were messed with it could
explain the blank page.

Someone in that message thread said to restore the
registry, I wouldn't do that because it could cause some
apps not to work, if what he means by restore is to
replace the original. Just be careful.

If you do use that, I would make a system restore point.
Sorry I keep posting, I keep forgetting things.

Hi Julie,

Run the edit on line 146 (right hand side) to lift all restrictions/policies
against Add or Remove. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

If Add or Remove doesn't populate, check what is listed here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Uninstall

The key above holds all programs listed in Add or Remove. If by chance,
AutoCad is installed and is the first item listed, you should be able to
scroll for a great deal of time, to see the rest of the list. If this is
the case, run the edit on line 226 (right hand side) same link.
