black screen using click to dvd, movie x

I have been using Sony's Click to Dvd program and Movie X. Whenever you try to Import alot of photos my Vaio notebook will go to black screen and instantly turn off. The Vaio will always turn off when these programs are in the middle of the converting process. I have done every thing in the help center and updates. My father has the exact vaio and has no problems. Do I have a internal computor problem?
 
Which updates have you installed? Just Windows updates or also updates off
of Sony's website? I would try going to Sony's site and installing any new
software and driver updates for your machine.

You may also want to try contacting Sony customer support to see if it's a
known issue with the Click to DVD program, or with a piece of hardware in
your machine.
