Black screen Please HELP.....

The computer goes thru the hardware check, it gives me the splash screen
"starting winxp pro" and after that all I get is the mouse arrow on black
screen.. I can move the mouse arrow anywhere but thats as far as it gets.
I attempted to boot into safe mode but it`s just the same problem. I cant
see the commandline or nothing. Only the mouse cousor. I have tried too start
up with the CD but it dont work since i cant se the command line.

Please help me.....
 
I just came to this group for the same exact reason. I did find that when
this happens, if I his the reboot button on the front of my computer(not
the main power button) that the system reboots and then works fine. The
pain is that I have to turn on the computer let it boot until I get to the
blank screen with just the mouse working, then hit the reboot button to get
it to work. I am looking forwrd to getting some help on this. If you have
that reboot button you may want to try that to see if that works to at least
get you in to XP.

Just figured out my problem. My new Viewsonic 19" LCD showed, in their
installation instructions, both the digital and analog cables being
connected. When looking at "display" in Control panel, I had two idential
monitors showing so I removed the analog cable. No more blank screen on
startup. It was a simple thing , you may want to check to make sure you
don't have two cables hooked to your monitor

I feel i need too explain more here :-)

The last time the maskin worked i got a errormessage that said that some of
the files that XP needed had been changed and that i should put in the XP CD
to correct this. But i did not find the CD at the time so i just pressed
"cancel" (Huge mistake) and then when i started up the PC again it acted like
this....

I have tried too start up i every single one of the different
modes(safemodes and so on) In safemode it seems like the computer start up
like it should, but the only thing i can see is the mouse and "safemode" in
every corner. I cant do anything else. I dont see the desktop or any windows
that should pop up if i should reinstall XP. When i start over again it comes
as far as the windows XP startup screen, then it goes over till the "harddisk
control" and after that its only the mouse i see, but the mouse is WITHOUT
colours???

I just want too see ANY dialog boxes or something that i could reinstall or
repair the XP. This is a little difficult with no with no place too write or
click....

Need help desperatly....

I have the same problem. I to re-installed XP Home (not clean install
and the computer started loading and got to the logo and then the mous
pointer pops up, which I can move around the screen as well, but that
it. The same in safe mode. I then tried to reinstall XP again and no
the installation process only gets to about 34% and then I get
message about physical memory being dumped. Please help me as well
