I have Phoenix Bios v4.0 Rel 6.0 I just upgraded my cpu to 3.06HT. I need to update my bios to enable HyperThreading. I made a boot disk deleted autoexec.bat and config.sys i copied the flash utility and the new rom file on to the boot disk. After the restart i ran flash utility program. I constantly get error "Memory management i.e. Himem is in use" the flash utility then closes. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

My system config

Windows XP Home (SP 1)
ECS G732 Laptop
3.06Ghz P4 FSB 533Mhz w/ HT
1024 MB PC 2700 DDR
40 GB HD

The boot floppy was made with what operating system? The ME IO.SYS had
HIMEM.SYS built in and caused problems. I made a boot floppy for BIOS
updates using the files for Windows 98. This precluded any problems.

Try www.bootdisk.com and see if they have the files for a boot disk that
goes to real-mode DOS with NO memory managers.
